City Cleanups
Day 1 : World Earth Day – 22nd April 2023, Sat
A week-wide campaign, undertaken by the residents of the country. People will be requested to give in about 1-2 hours of their daily time to participate in cleaning up the places they frequent. To facilitate community engagement, the city cleanups will be coordinated through Social Media & messaging platforms. Here’s how this might all look like :
Residents can mention about areas in their neighborhood that might require cleaning. Our team of volunteers will help to clean those areas up, as much as possible – within a week’s time. These cleanups will help the cities bear a cleaner and more hygienic atmosphere which the residents can make wise use of.
Planting more Trees
Day 2 : World Environment Day – 5th June 2023, Mon
The plan is to complete 386+ million of plantations across India & its Cities in a single day. Get your colleges, schools, offices, friends & family involved in this mission to help the cities. We will try to plant as many saplings as possible in a single day. By planting at the onset of our monsoon season, we are improving the chances of the survival of these saplings & hope that our green cover increases many times because of this activity
A live tree counter will be kept on the day of the event. You can sign up your school, organization & bring your families to involve yourself in this event to save your city
Harvest Rainwater
Date : Last weekend of May / First weekend of June 2023
Lets do FUN projects that end up saving you resources. Help your City manage water more efficiently by developing reservoirs for rainwater harvesting. If you are interested in this mission, please fill the forms below & our technical team will guide you on how to make these systems along with the maintenance & upkeep.
All you need to do is get together as a community & plan to work together to make yourself independent. And who know how much water we end up saving & how it can help solve so many of our country’s problems if we all did it.
Community Gardens
Date : TBD
Throughout the Year, the FUN team will co-build community spaces that can be used by city dwellers. This is an effort in beautification of your city. 386 of such gardens are to be built.
The upkeep will be managed by designated locals in the area. We shall work with the forest departments & municipal corporations to make these gardens people-friendly & inviting. Provisions to reserve a small portion of the garden for composting will be looked into & provided wherever possible.

How do I coordinate towards this ?
Your Area coordinator will help you map your daily commute and involve you in the activities. We will help you select the location most convenient. If its more than a couple of kilometers away, we’ll guide you online to conduct the plantation near to your premises. Please make sure you fill the form so that we can contact you about this.

In every purchase of a ticket, you not only support your local athletes but also support our cause because 10% of the ticket sales go to the initiative set out for the Year. Apart from this, another 10% goes to the development of Special FUN Academy – where we train 386 kids for free to excel at sports.
What is the #FUNday challenge?
In the #FUNday challenge, you perform a dance move followed by a Triangle Sign, and nominate 5 people to do the same. This is a pledge for the Cities.

Even though you can’t send in monetary help, there’s so many ways to support us. Give us a shoutout on your social media! Try to start something similar in your current neighborhood. We’ll be glad to see this happen all over the World
How to support #trashtotrees ?
We are on a mission to recycle as much waste as possible in a sustainable manner. Trash to Trees is just the beginning of something nice – the act of cleaning up your area along with methodical waste segregation, collection and recycling can greatly make cities more livable and breathable. Donations
Where is my donation spent ? And how do I know that it is ?
50% of your donation will be spent on purchasing of plants & their upkeep. The other 50% shall be spent on the other 3 missions. Your exact donation amount & purpose used will be tracked and sent to you
Is The FUN Foundation registered under any tax exemption?
We are in the process of being registered under Section 8 as a non-profit according to the Indian Companies Act. We also will complete our 12A & 80G registrations, so that individuals & companies can benefit from the financial when they plan to donate
Where do I donate & how ?
We cannot accept donations for now because we are in the process of getting registered. We’ll inform you when we will be able to accept. A donation link will appear on this page itself. Do not donate via any other external site or external agent, for it may be unverified or fraudulent.
What is the minimum donation amount ?
The minimum donation amount is INR 386/-.
If you wish do donate in kind, for example saplings, seedlings, equipment, etc. please get in touch with us. We’ll figure out the logistics. You can also donate as a CSR project
Technical
Its peak summer in April. Why are we doing this now ?
We are planning the plantation & cleanup in 2 stages. The April 22 drive is a plan to clean up before we plant. That way our Cities get saved from the waste in drains, thereby saving our seas too.

How can we stay up-to-date with your progress in the Missions ?
From March 8 onwards, we will be adding a Mission Meter, to track our mission progress. All the 32 Teams participating in the India Edition of The League of Cities will be working towards the mission.
Why are we doing this ?
The League of Cities comes up with a set of Missions every year to help the Cities develop. We want to ensure that the Cities not only become sports centers but also community centers.
Cities will become places where people can stay connected & find collective meaning. Our activities intend to bring about community engagement in order to bring cities together. Hope we have FUN doing this!
